This Privacy Policy sets out the policies on the management of information that identifies you within Wild Internet & Telecom Internet Services. All references to "Wild Internet & Telecom", "we", "us", or "our" within this policy refer to Wild Internet & Telecom Pty Ltd (Administrator Appointed) ABN 98 091 470 692 1604/6 Lachlan Street, Waterloo NSW 2017, Australia.

We respect your right to expect privacy from Wild Internet & Telecom and because of this, Wild Internet & Telecom agrees to comply with the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) as set out in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000, which amends the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) and administered by the Privacy Commissioner. These NPPs provide legislative benchmarks that Businesses, Organisations and Companies, such as Wild Internet & Telecom, can collect, disclose and use, any Personal Information about you. The NPPs give you the right to know what information we hold and also a right to correct any inaccurate information we may have.

Our Web site contains a number of links to other Web sites. Please note that when referring to these sites the same or equivalent Privacy Policy standards may not have been adopted.

Important Notice for Application(s) for Credit

By applying for a service with us, you agree that we may give information about you to a credit reporting agency, for the following purposes:

  • to obtain a consumer credit report about you, and/or
  • to allow the credit reporting agency to create or maintain a credit information file containing information about you - the information is limited to:
    • Identity particulars - your name, sex, address (and the previous two addresses) date of birth, name of employer, and drivers licence number.
    • your application for credit or commercial credit - the fact that you have applied for credit and the amount.
    • The fact that we are a current credit provider to you.
    • loan repayments which are overdue by more than 60 days, and for which debt collection action has started.
    • advice that your loan repayments are no longer overdue in respect of any default that has been listed.
    • information that, in the opinion of us, you have committed a serious credit infringement (that is, fraudulently or shown an intention not to comply with your credit obligations).
    • dishonoured cheques - cheques drawn by you for $100 or more which have been dishonoured more than once.
    • that credit provided to you by us has been paid or otherwise discharged. 

What other Information does Wild Internet & Telecom collect from you?

In the general course of carrying on our business, Wild Internet & Telecom must collect certain Personal Information from you in order to help setup, establish, and service your access to our various products and services.
The Personal Information that is collected and maintained generally comprises of your name, address (residential, postal and E-mail), contact details including telephone numbers (both home and work), fax, and mobile phone number, account usernames, passwords, concession details, and credit card details.

For some products additional information is required, including Business or Company name, Business or Company registration details, Business or Company address (postal and E-mail), and ABN number.
Internet activity details of date, time, amount of data both sent and received, and your dialling from telephone number, is recorded for every successful dialup connection to Wild Internet & Telecom. This information is referred to as session logs.

These session logs are available on written request from the account holder. Session logs are used to compile your monthly usage data, which can be viewed by you from our Web site.

Notes are recorded on your account should you contact the Wild Internet & Telecom Help desk by telephone, fax or e-mail, with regard to any account, connection or service difficulty. This information is referred to as the account history.
There may be occasions where we request an additional form of identification, driver's licence or passport to confirm that you are the account holder. Usually this is required when a password is forgotten or proof of age is necessary (over 18 years of age).

How does Wild Internet & Telecom collect Information from you?

Wild Internet & Telecom collects the Personal Information directly from you or a representative of your Business or Company requesting the use of our services. This is primarily collected from your application and various other registration and request forms, issued by Wild Internet & Telecom, whether they be submitted to us in person, posted, e-mailed or faxed. Wild Internet & Telecom also collects information from forms submitted from our Web site, and also from contact with Wild Internet & Telecom or its agents over the counter, telephone, e-mail, letter or fax.

Information that Wild Internet & Telecom does not collect from you? Wild Internet & Telecom will not collect any Personal Information from you should you instruct us not to. However, should you provide incomplete or inaccurate information, Wild Internet & Telecom may not be able to provide you with the level of service that you require, should the information requested be necessary for the setup of the requested service.

The Personal Information that Wild Internet & Telecom collects does not contain any sensitive information about you, as defined by the Privacy Act, this includes information or an opinion about your racial or ethnic origin, political opinion, membership of a political association, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, membership of a progressional or trade association, membership of a trade union, sexual preferences or practices, criminal record, health information and any personal information from or about a child.

What does Wild Internet & Telecom use your Personal Information for?

As mentioned previously, Wild Internet & Telecom primarily collects your Personal Information so that we can connect you to our services. For example, the opening and operating of an E-mail or dial-up account. We also use your Personal Information for internal accounting and administration of your account with us.

Your session logs and usage history provide Wild Internet & Telecom with information that will help us to diagnose and recommend courses of action to reduce or eliminate any service problems that you may have.
We also use your personal information for notifying you of, any Interruptions to our service, impending expiry of block hours, availability of your latest invoice and electronic receipts for Credit Card payments.

We may also use your personal information for supplying your name and address to our mailing house to mail account statements on our behalf; and notifying our collection agency, should you be in default on your account.
From time to time, however, Wild Internet & Telecom may use your personal information, collected from you, to inform you about other Wild Internet & Telecom products and services, which we believe may be of interest to you. We give you the option to receive or not receive this information.

Wild Internet & Telecom may disclose your Personal Information to law enforcement agencies, government agencies, courts or relevant persons where permitted or required by law. On each instance of disclosure, a note will be recorded in your account file to indicate that this had occurred, together with copies of the relevant legal requests, and the Information supplied.
Wild Internet & Telecom does not disclose, rent, sell, or trade names and addresses to any third parties for the purpose of allowing them to direct market their products and services to you.

How does Wild Internet & Telecom obtain your consent?

When submitting an application, registration or other request form, for a service to be supplied by Wild Internet & Telecom, you consent to the collection and use of your Personal Information by us for the purposes detailed in this policy. This also applies when electronically submitting forms from our Web site.

When you apply for a connection, addition, or alteration, to a service provided by Wild Internet & Telecom, we will also ask for your specific consent to inform you about other Wild Internet & Telecom products and services, through a newsletter from time to time. Should consent be given, then you can still choose not to receive any further newsletters from us at any time, and we will remove you from the mailing list.

How does Wild Internet & Telecom keep Personal Information secure?

Wild Internet & Telecom protects any Personal Information that has been collected, from misuse or loss, together with any unauthorised access including modification or disclosure.

Only authorised users can access your Personal Information, and access is limited to, approved purposes only.
Wild Internet & Telecom maintains physical security over paper and data storage through the use of locks and security systems. The computer and network security consists of firewalls, user identifiers and passwords to access the computer systems. All Credit card details are encrypted during transmission for authorisation.

Wild Internet & Telecom will only keep your Personal Information for as long as it is needed. Should your Personal Information be no longer required, for the purpose it was originally collected, then we will either destroy or permanently de-identify the information.

How do you Access and Correct your Personal Information?

On a request from you, and where it is reasonable to do so, we will provide you with all details of your Personal Information held by Wild Internet & Telecom, unless the specific information requested, is exempted under the Privacy Act.
For example, items that are not exempted under the Privacy Act include our records of your address, contact numbers, account details, passwords, account logs and notes.

Does Wild Internet & Telecom use Identifiers?

Wild Internet & Telecom will not adopt, use or disclose any identifier that has been assigned by a Commonwealth government agency, such as Social Security or Tax File numbers.

Can you transact with Wild Internet & Telecom anonymously?

Wild Internet & Telecom may allow you to transact with us anonymously, where the request is lawful and practical.

Does Wild Internet & Telecom transfer your Personal Information overseas?

Most of our brochures and application forms contain Privacy Information relevant to the specific service, and also ask for your consent for the collection and use of your Personal Information.

How do you lodge a Complaint?

For the management of access requests and complaints concerning your Personal Information, Wild Internet & Telecom has appointed a Privacy Officer who will access your requests.
If you believe that your privacy has been compromised by Wild Internet & Telecom, you can lodge a complaint in writing to the address below, and we will make all attempts to satisfactorily resolve the matter.
Should you not be satisfied with the outcome then you may refer the matter to the Privacy Commissioner's Office.
